December 22, 2017

Governor Scott Walker highlighted the elimination of the state property tax levy and other property tax relief on Thursday.

The cumulative results of Governor Walker’s property tax reforms result in savings of nearly $3,000 for the typical household when compared to the trend before he assumed office in 2010.

“We’re actively lifting the burden for taxpayers throughout Wisconsin by completely removing the state portion of the total property tax, now and in the future,” Governor Walker said. “As promised, property taxes on the typical home will be lower in 2018 than when we took office in 2010. This tax relief allows taxpayers to keep more of their hard-earned money to save, spend, and invest as they see fit, which is good for Wisconsin’s families, seniors, farmers, and business owners.”
