Governor Walker’s priorities for Dairy Task Force 2.0

Governor Walker’s recently announced Dairy Task Force 2.0 aims to assist Wisconsin’s struggling dairy farmers through a variety of recommendations.

In 1985 the UW System appointed the first Dairy Task Force, consisting of 31 industry stakeholders to create a report of over 75 recommendations to kick-start the industry.

Imitating the original collaboration, the current task force will analyze recent state programs to release updated options.

“We’ve lowered property taxes, we’ve dramatically reduced and almost eliminated the tax on production for agriculture, we changed the regulatory and legal climate, we’ve done all sorts of things to help our farmers but when prices are this low that’s still a challenge,” Governor Walker describes.
