Republican Roy Moore’s loss in an Alabama special U.S. Senate election on Tuesday — despite the fact he was endorsed by President Donald Trump — will have no impact on his own 2018 bid for re-election, Gov. Scott Walker said Wednesday in Eau Claire.
“It doesn’t mean a thing,” Walker, a Republican, said of Moore’s loss.
Walker said his success in the 2018 gubernatorial election will be based solely on his record and not on any endorsement.
“Are we moving the state forward or backward?” he said. “I think we’ve got a compelling case (for re-election), even if they have 100 candidates running.”
